An Evening With
Paul Anka
Sunday, February 24 at 7pm, Tickets: $95/85

Paul Anka, one of the greatest songwriters in history, will be returning to the Sunrise Theatre in February, 2013. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to witness the extraordinary talent who has been delighting audiences around the world for 40 years.

Raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Paul Anka started writing songs at an early age, but it was a trip to New York that was to change his life forever when he wrote a song called “Diana” for a girl he knew. This song launched his career as an international teen idol at the age of sixteen and sold over 20 million copies worldwide.

By the time Anka was 18; he had five Top-20 hits and had secured himself a distinguished musical niche of romance. Who can forget his famous hits “Put Your Head on My Shoulder,” “You Are My Destiny,” “Lonely Boy” and “Puppy Love”… performed by some of the greatest names in the entertainment industry including Sinatra, Presley, Barbara Streisand, Buddy Holly, Tom Jones, etc.

Besides writing well-known pieces of music for TV and film, Anka topped the charts in the 70s with hits: “(You’re) Having My Baby,” “I Don’t Like To Sleep Alone” and “One-Man Woman.” Of course, Anka is probably best known for his song “My Way” which topped the charts by Frank Sinatra and later by Elvis Presley; and unknown to many, Anka co-wrote Michael Jackson’s posthumous #1 worldwide hit, “This Is It,” further cementing his place in history as one of the most prolific and versatile songwriters of any generation.

It is a rare privilege and honor for us to have this extraordinary talent back again to Sunrise Theatre. Don’t miss Paul Anka on February 24th at 7:00pm.
