The National Touring Company of A Chorus Line – March 19, 2013

The National Touring Company of

A Chorus Line

Tuesday, March 19 at 7pm, Tickets: $60/50

A Chorus Line is a stunning musical-verite about a chorus audition for a Broadway musical. It tells of the achingly poignant ambitions of professional Broadway gypsies to land a job in the show, and is a powerful metaphor for all human aspiration.

For 17 dancers, this audition is the chance of a lifetime. It’s what they’ve worked for – with every drop of sweat, every hour of training, every day of their lives. It’s the one opportunity to do what they’ve always dreamed — to have the chance to dance.

This is A Chorus Line, the musical for everyone who’s ever had a dream and put it all on the line. Winner of nine Tony Awards®, including “Best Musical” and the Pulitzer Prize for drama, this singular sensation is one of Broadway’s greatest musicals ever. And you’ll find it here at the Sunrise Theatre.

“The experience for a first-timer could well be as exhilarating and revelatory as it was for any newbie seeing “A Chorus Line” kicking its heels and tipping its top hats back in the day.”

Get The Led Out: The American Led Zeppelin

Thursday, March 14 at 7pm, Tickets: $39

Attention Zep Fans! From the bombastic and epic, to the folky and mystical, Get The Led Out have captured the essence of the recorded music of Led Zeppelin and brought it to the big concert stage. The Philadelphia-based group consists of six accomplished musicians’ intent on delivering Led Zeppelin’s recordings with all the bells and whistles.

Utilizing the multi-instrumentalists at their disposal, Get The Led Out is a group of professional musicians who are passionate about their love of the music of Led Zeppelin. It’s been their mission to bring the studio recordings of “the mighty Zep” to life on the big concert stage. This is not an impersonator act but rather a group of musicians who were fans first, striving to do justice to one of the greatest bands in rock history!

Dubbed by the media as “The American Led Zeppelin”, Get The Led Out present a two hour plus set that spans the mythic career of the legendary British super group. With a strong focus on the early years, they also touch on the deeper cuts that were seldom, if ever heard in concert.
A Get The Led Out concert sort of mimics the “light and shade” that is the embodiment of “The Mighty Zep.” Whether it’s the passion and fury with which they deliver the blues-soaked, groove-driven rock anthems, or the delicate nature of their intimate, sit-down acoustic set, it’s their attention to detail and nuance that makes a Get The Led Out performance a truly awe-inspiring event!

An Evening with Johnny Mathis at Sunrise Theatre – March 9, 2013

Enjoy the Smooth Sounds of Magical Romance!
An Evening With Johnny Mathis
Saturday, March 9 at 8pm, Tickets: $95/85

Johnny Mathis uses a fitting description when he talks about the connection he makes with his fans onstage…”It’s a love affair!”

At the start of his career, Mathis’ vocal depth and innocent image made him a favorite with female fans looking for an alternative to the brash rock of Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis. His voice, then and now, was immediately recognizable and unique: a rich, honeyed tenor that transcended social and racial barriers.

In the more than 50 years since his first hit records, Mathis has successfully wooed several generations of fans through early hits like “Wonderful, Wonderful,” “Chances Are” and “It’s Not for Me to Say,” and later successes, including 1978′s chart-topping “Too Much, Too Little, Too Late,” a duet with Deniece Williams. His 2011 album, “Let It Be Me: Mathis In Nashville,” earned a Grammy® nomination for the Lifetime Grammy Achievement winner. Enjoy a warm and “Wonderful, Wonderful” evening listening to the silky, sultry sensuous sounds of this legendary romanticist.

“…Johnny Mathis still has the magic of romance…
Mathis was terrific, singing romantic songs with three musicians he brought along, and one of the
finest symphony orchestras….”
